Yurt

Yurt is Hong Kong's first modern Central Asian restaurant, located on Elgin Street in SoHo, Central. Founded by a trio of Kazakh natives — Ali Nuraly, Xeniya Tregubenko, and head chef Marat Zakaryayev — Yurt brings the nomadic hospitality and bold flavours of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan to the heart of Hong Kong. Inspired by the traditional yurt where strangers become family, the restaurant operates on a halal philosophy with no alcohol, offering instead a curation of sparkling teas, zero-proof cocktails, and traditional hot teas. Guests may dine via a six-course tasting menu (from HKD488 per person) or the à la carte menu. Signature dishes include baursak — plump homemade fried dough pockets served with white truffle sauce — and beshbarmaq, a hearty dish of noodle parcels, beef, and horse meat sausage in a clear broth. The restaurant is open Tuesday to Sunday for lunch and dinner. Yurt is located at 32 Elgin Street, SoHo, Central, Hong Kong.

Akira Back

Akira Back is the Hong Kong debut of world-renowned Korean-American chef Akira Back, located on the 5th floor of The Henderson — a super Grade-A office tower on Murray Road in Central. Born in Seoul and raised in Aspen, Colorado, Chef Back trained under culinary legends including Nobu Matsuhisa and Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, before building a global empire of nearly 30 restaurant locations across Paris, Los Angeles, Dubai, Singapore, Seoul, and beyond. His cuisine fuses Japanese techniques with Korean heritage and bold American flair, resulting in a theatrical, sharing-style dining experience. Signature dishes include the iconic AB Tuna Pizza — fresh tuna sashimi on a wafer-thin crust with ponzu aioli and white truffle oil — the Toro Tartare served with fresh caviar and nine condiments inspired by the Korean royal dish Gujeolpan, and the Brother from Another Mother roll with unagi, anago tempura, and shaved foie gras torchon. The restaurant's interior features marble floors in bold geometric patterns, murals, and tableware inspired by the artwork of Chef Back's mother, Young Hee Back. Guests may dine from an all-day à la carte menu, a weekday set lunch menu, or a seasonal tasting menu. The restaurant is open Monday to Sunday, 12:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Akira Back is located at 5/F, The Henderson, 2 Murray Road, Central, Hong Kong.
