The Jockey Club Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course
The Jockey Club Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course is Hong Kong's first and only public golf course, providing quality, accessible and affordable golfing to Hong Kong people. Located on the picturesque island of Kau Sai Chau off the coast of Sai Kung Peninsula, just 15 kilometers away from the mainland. The facility was built during 1994-95 with funds donated by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and became operational in December 1995. Since opening, the course has expanded significantly and is now equipped with three 18-hole courses including the East Course, South Course, and North Course. The golf course is accessible by ferry service that runs between Sai Kung and Kau Sai Chau, with the Golf Course Pier in Sai Kung located a short walk away from the Golf Course Car park. This establishment serves as an important recreational facility that promotes golf as an accessible sport in Hong Kong, breaking away from the traditionally exclusive nature of golf clubs in the region.
